Brittany & Keahi's Playful Spring Wedding

Updated: Mar 20

A little over 5 years after their first date, Brittany and Keahi said their "I Do's" under a beautiful blue sky, surrounded by 170 friends and family on April 27, 2019. If I could only pick three words to describe their wedding day, I'd say it was playful, sweet and delightful, and our team was so fortunate to work with this couple as one of our full service clients for the past year.

When I say that the day was beautiful, I really mean it - and that was such a big deal considering the torrential downpour that raged outside while we rehearsed inside the barn the evening before. But despite the thunderstorms that continued through the night, wedding day was warm and breezy, there was mild humidity, and somehow the grounds weren't even muddy. We set up the ceremony space beside the pond on The Farm at 42's property, with baby's breath-filled mason jars lining the aisle and a lovely white-draped arbor as the ceremony backdrop.

Guests filled the seats and the family and bridal party made their way down the aisle, with gentlemen wearing greenery leis made by the groom's mom and bridesmaids wearing light blue dresses. They were followed by one of the sweetest flower girls and finally the bride, who was escorted by her dad and step dad. Even with a first look earlier in the day, the couple was so joyful during their ceremony, including their cord-of-three ceremony, and when Brittany & Keahi were announced as the new Mr. and Mrs., guests celebrated with bubbles!

While the couple and family were whisked away for photos, the guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the porch. An open beer and wine bar, a cheese, fruit and veggie platter from City BBQ, and some chocolate bars from Keahi's home state of Hawaii were happily enjoyed by the guests, but the fun surprise came in the form of cocktail hour entertainment - a mini golf course set up on the property! The couple loved being able to include mini golf since it was one of their first dates, and guests who played a round of golf were treated to a customized golf ball with the couple's names and date as a special wedding favor.

As cocktail hour came to a close, guests were welcomed into the barn, where tables were set with light blue table runners, a custom-made planter box with candles, succulents and flowers (Keahi's mom Pua was a DIY queen). Place settings consisted of white napkins, buffet menus, and homemade candle favors. With all the guests seated, the bridal party and our darling newlyweds were introduced to the reception, and Brittany & Keahi went right into their first dance. Then then took their seats at their sweetheart table, which had a beautiful white-draped backdrop to perfectly frame their happy day.

Guests made their way to the buffet after a blessing, and once everyone had thoroughly enjoyed the barbecue spread, the bridal party gave their toasts. The couple thanked everyone for joining them, they cut their cake and then opened up the dance floor, which most of the guests joined for a group first dance. Shortly after, the next fun surprise of the day was announced, and guests were invited to head outside and enjoy the ice cream sundae bar provided by Two Roosters! That's right, this wedding had bubbles, mini golf and ice cream - can you think of a more fun and playful way to celebrate the first day of your marriage?
