Venue Visit with Clients Captures Vision

Updated: Jan 1, 2019

Driving into Dunn, North Carolina, about 45 minutes south of Raleigh, I found myself in a quaint, older downtown that reminded me of my own hometown and filled me with nostalgia. The real surprise came when I pulled up in front of The Howard House and found a gorgeous historic house. When a bride tells me that she found a wedding venue for under $1,000, the budget-conscious side of my planner brain rejoices, even while wondering if the space will be adequate for the dreams she's been describing. I couldn't have been happier to find this stunning and richly decorated house to be a well-kept secret worth exploring.

Karla & Josh, who plan to be married on August 18, 2018 at the Howard House, also brought along their photographer, Paul Pustelnik of Stories of Love, for our venue visit to see the venue and begin working on a game plan that would capture their vision. While the couple and I used this venue visit to wander through the house making notes for their decor plan, a few members of the bridal party explored and Paul captured some sweet, behind the scenes moments. You'll have to wait for the wedding photos to see all the beautiful spaces in this venue, but I believe every part of the planning process should be treasured, and we were lucky enough to capture this part on camera.
